What's So Special About a Lotus?

Why you should buy a Lotus?

If you can get an exotic car under 100 grand that not only turns heads, but is famous for its driving thrills, thanks to its highly reliable Toyota based engines, would you?

YES! If you do not want to fit in the same crowd like most people do, you should get a different type of car; something sporty, something exotic! Consider a Lotus if you want to be truly in touch with the road while controlling a powerful and great handling of a vehicle with it. Thank Colin Chapman and the British for manufacturing this fine exotic automobile. Lotus is famous for their light weight chassis, beautiful design, high marks in the Formula One racing, and powerful engine for its size. I had the pleasure of operating an Elise and I was not disappointed. The power that comes in one of these are substantial. Great response while operating this vehicle. The steering control is so accurate, you sometimes feel that the car has a mind of its own. I cannot begin to talk about its acceleration. After having the pleasure to drive one of these and talking to many others who also driven them, we came to a general consensus that it turns any crappy day that you might have had into the most memorable day.

My first experience with a Lotus was a fun yet scary one. This happened in 2007 when I turned 20. I always wanted to test drive one but I had to first learn manual. After practicing manual in my Uncle's Esprit, I was ready to try one myself. I went to the one nearby my house where I lived and they had the Elise in stock. At first it was pretty amusing since I could not believe it was that small. I thought that I would never fit into this hot sports car and this whole test drive would fail. However, I did not want to let myself down and still continued to get ready to drive an Elise. I got into the car and was surprised how much room it was in the compartment. I was over six feet at the time and my legs did have room. I was relived that I was able to reach the shifter, clutch and gas pedals at ease. I put the car on idle, shifted to first gear and was off. The acceleration was powerful in this machine. Nice lift-off and the noise was spectacular. I was coasting towards forty miles an hour at ease. This dealership was in the middle of a small city so as soon as I was coasting, everyone knew that a Lotus Elise was coming out of the lot.

I did not stop there. I wanted to really see what this car can do. The Lotus representative gave me the green light to go on the nearest expressway to really give it a test drive. I was a bit nervous but excited to go. We finally got on the highway and I shifted the gears to fourth. The shifting was really responsive and I got to clock it close to ninety miles an hour but I do not want to be reckless plus it was just a test drive of a Lotus that I did not own, yet. After my highway run, we returned back to the dealership where I learned more about their inventory and their dealership. It was great to learn all these features about the Lotus and it took me by surprise how many people do not really know about this car company. They might have seen it but they really do not know unless they try one out!
